Xlio is dual licensed under GPL v3 license or Commercial license.

GPL v3 License

You may copy, distribute and modify the software as long as you track changes/dates of in source files and keep modifications under GPL. You can distribute your application using a GPL library commercially, but you must also provide the source code.

Commercial License

You may distribute your application without providing the source code. Full text of the Commercial license can be found here.

There are two flavors of the license:

DEV License

Developer license allows a single developer to use Xlio on unlimited number of projects.

OEM License

OEM license allows Xlio to be used on unlimited number of projects, without developer restrictions.

We offer only bugfixing support. Please check the Support page on how to request support.

FAQ

Q: Why is Xlio dual licensed? Why not either open-source or commercial only?

A: We wanted to take advantages of both world. By offering commercial licenses our clients get support when needed and project will not be abandoned. By providing the source, we attract passionate individuals to find bugs and propose new features.

Q: Are there other options to get a license for a closed-source project?

A: Yes. Write us an email if:

  • you're working on a non-commercial closed-source project;
  • you wrote a blog post about Xlio;
  • you have implemented a new feature in Xlio.
